Description
American Logistics Company, LLC is a growing, entrepreneurial, software development company in the passenger transportation industry. We use a custom-built platform to dispatch, track, and report on thousands of trips for our customers every single day. We are pushing boundaries in databases, mapping, scheduling, routing, and optimization.
 
The Systems Engineer is responsible for planning, design, configuration, and implementation of the organization's on-premise infrastructure as well as cloud infrastructure. This position will ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of the systems to verify they meet business/customer needs and requirements. The Systems Engineer is responsible for monitoring the performance of systems and, in turn, recommending, planning, and implementing system upgrades and changes, documenting system planning, configuration, implementation, and management, overseeing the organization's disaster recovery plan, and managing the Active Directory environment as well as oversee all auxiliary systems and services. This position will act as the systems team lead and will be required to oversee projects as related to the team. The Systems Engineer will work closely with other members of the team to provide training and mentorship.
 
Systems Engineer Responsibilities:
 
• Leads the day-to-day operational support for server, storage or network infrastructures.
• Builds, patches, tests and deploys complex systems and platforms meeting the company needs and specifications.
• Manage development, testing and deployment of software and other computer systems technologies to ensure compliance with operational requirements for security, performance, reliability and scalability.
• Research existing and emerging hardware and software technologies to determine capabilities and cost-benefits relationship and develop ongoing computer system solutions that meet performance and budgetary requirements.
• Documents complex procedures and troubleshooting procedures related to systems/networks software and hardware.
• Leads the configuration and maintenance of software.
• Provide technical guidance and assistance to other Systems Engineers and Administrators.
 
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent technical or professional experience related to the systems engineering.
• Minimum of seven years of related work experience
• Demonstrated proficiency with different OS (Windows, Linux, VMware, etc.)
• Demonstrated proficiency with cloud systems (Azure, AWS, etc.)
• Demonstrated proficiency with script languages (PowerShell, VBScript, etc.)
• Ability to transport self to various facility sites as required. If using own motor vehicle, must possess a valid state driver’s license and proof of insurance that meets the minimum standards of the state
